Rani Mukerji to illuminate Mumbai’s Bandra-Worli Sea Link in red for cancer awareness on World Rose Day

Renowned Bollywood star Rani Mukerji is partnering with the renowned charity organisation Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) on the occasion of World Rose Day. The actress will illuminate the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai in red to spread awareness on cancer this day. She will be joined by young cancer patients for this landmark event.

Expressing her happiness over being associated for such a noble cause, Rani Mukerji shared, “I’m truly humbled to support this important cause and I thank the Cancer Patients Aid Association for choosing me to be a part of such a noble mission. Those suffering from this need all our support and compassion and we must all take part to be educated about cancer. I hope this activity plays an important role in spreading awareness.”

She added, “As actors, we get so much unconditional love from our viewers. It also makes us responsible to stand up and do our bit whenever needed. I truly believe that actors must use their voice to spread as much awareness as possible for issues that are critical like cancer. We must foster an environment of compassion for those suffering from cancer and for the families of those going through the journey with such patients. Initiatives like these are important to drive home such messages.”

In addition to illuminating the sea link, Rani Mukerji will also present roses and gifts to the children participating in the event. World Rose Day commemorates the memory of 12-year-old Melinda Rose from Canada, who was diagnosed with Askin’s Tumor, a rare blood cancer.

Meanwhile speaking about Rani Mukerji, the actress was last seen in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, that was inspired by the true story of a mother whose kids were taken away by Norwegian authorities.

Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan faces threat months after firing at their residence, burqa-clad woman says, “Lawrence Bishnoi ko bulau kya?”: Reports

Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan faces threat months after firing at their residence, burqa-clad woman says, “Lawrence Bishnoi ko bulau kya?”: Reports

A burqa-clad woman recently approached veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, the father of actor Salman Khan, and threatened him using the name of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The incident occurred in Mumbai’s Carter Road area, months after Salman Khan’s Bandra residence was fired upon, reportedly at the behest of the jailed gangster.

Incident at Carter Road: A Brief Overview
On Wednesday, Salim Khan was seated at a promenade after his morning walk when a woman, along with a man on a bike, approached him. The woman allegedly asked, “Lawrence Bishnoi ko bulau kya?” (Should I call Lawrence Bishnoi?), making a direct reference to the gangster.

Mumbai’s Bandra police have registered a case and are actively working to trace the two individuals involved. The police suspect the incident might have been a prank but have taken the matter seriously, considering Bishnoi’s past involvement with threats to the Khan family.
The Lawrence Bishnoi Connection
The name Lawrence Bishnoi is well-known in connection to multiple criminal activities, including threats against Salman Khan. The gangster, currently jailed, is reportedly linked to the murder of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala. Bishnoi’s gang had also previously threatened to kill Salman Khan, leading to heightened security around the actor and his family.

In an earlier incident on April 14, two men on a motorcycle fired five rounds outside Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, in Bandra. Although no one was injured, the attack raised serious concerns about the safety of the Khan family. Six people have been arrested in connection with that case, and the Mumbai Police has invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against at least nine individuals, including Bishnoi.

Choreographer Jani Master arrested after 21-year-old former colleague accuses him of sexual harassment: Reports

Choreographer Jani Master arrested after 21-year-old former colleague accuses him of sexual harassment: Reports

Popular choreographer Jani Master has been reportedly arrested following sexual harassment allegations made against him by a 21-year-old former colleague. Known for his work in blockbusters such as Baahubali and Pushpa: The Rise, Master now faces charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Allegations of Sexual Harassment Spanning Several Years
The allegations come from a woman who first met Jani Master in 2017. Two years later, she accepted an offer to work as his assistant choreographer. The accuser claims that the sexual assaults took place over several years, starting when she was still a minor.

One specific incident is said to have occurred at a hotel in Mumbai, where Master and two male dancers were staying during a show. The woman also claimed that Master threatened her with physical violence to keep her from filing a complaint and mentally harassed her during photoshoots and rehearsals.
Further Accusations of Forced Conversion and Marriage
The accusations do not end there. According to the woman, Jani Master allegedly pressured her to convert and “marry” him, despite him being married. On one occasion, the woman claimed, Master and his wife entered her room and physically assaulted her.
Suspension and Legal Action
Following these allegations, Jani Master was arrested in Bengaluru and is expected to be moved to Hyderabad. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and a workers’ union have suspended Master from their ranks. Actor Jhansi, who chairs the Telugu Film Chamber’s panel on sexual harassment claims, confirmed that the charges include rape and criminal intimidation.

The charges will reportedly invoke sections of the POCSO Act, which deals with crimes committed against minors. The matter is under investigation, and further legal proceedings are expected.
Political Repercussions
Jani Master is also a member of actor-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party, which has directed him to distance himself from its political events for the time being. While there were rumours of his expulsion from the party, Master has denied these claims and stated that he will follow the leadership’s directions.
Broader Context: A Wave of Allegations Across the Industry
Jani Master’s arrest comes amid a larger wave of sexual assault allegations sweeping the Indian film industry. The Kerala movie industry has also been rocked by numerous accusations, with actors and filmmakers like Nivin Pauly, Jayasurya, and MLA M Mukesh being named in various cases. These allegations have prompted widespread investigations and political debates.

As the situation develops, Jani Master’s case adds another name to the growing list of film industry figures facing serious allegations of sexual misconduct.
