Firing outside AP Dhillon’s Canada house, Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims responsibility: Reports

A shooting incident occurred outside the residence of Punjabi singer and rapper AP Dhillon in Canada’s Vancouver, according to sources. While an official confirmation is yet to be received, reports suggest that gunfire was heard near the singer’s home in the Victoria Island area.

The Lawrence Bishnoi-Rohit Godara gang has claimed responsibility for the shootings. This attack comes weeks after AP Dhillon released the music video ‘Old Money,’ featuring Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

A threat message circulating on social media alleges that the gang carried out shootings at two locations in Canada on the night of September 1—one on Victoria Island and another in Woodbridge, Toronto. The gang has also issued a threat to AP Dhillon, referencing his alleged connections with Salman Khan, warning him to “stay within his limits” or face dire consequences.

Canadian law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the authenticity of the post and the facts surrounding the shootings. No official statement has been released by the police.

MP High Court demands update on Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency certification from Centre amid Sikh community’s objections: Report

MP High Court demands update on Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency certification from Centre amid Sikh community’s objections: Report

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has requested clarification from the Central government regarding the certification status of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s controversial film Emergency. The court’s inquiry comes amidst rising concerns and legal challenges from the Sikh community, who allege that the film portrays them in a negative light.

Sikh Community’s Allegations Against Emergency
According to a report by Bar and Bench, the High Court’s notice follows a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the Jabalpur Sikh Sangat, a Sikh organization that has expressed strong objections to the film’s content. The group alleges that Emergency, which is set against the backdrop of the 1975 Emergency during the tenure of then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, contains material that could harm societal sentiments and misrepresent the Sikh community. The petitioners are seeking to halt the film’s release, arguing that it is not in the public interest.
Legal and Certification Challenges
Senior advocate NS Ruprah, representing the Sikh body, emphasized the potential impact the film could have on societal harmony. In response to these concerns, the High Court has asked the Central government to clarify whether Emergency has received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which is necessary for the film’s release in theatres.

Besides MP, the Punjab and Haryana High Court heard a similar case filed by Mohali residents Gurinder Singh and Jagmohan Singh, who demanded that the CBFC revoke the censor certificate for Emergency. They further requested that the film be reviewed by eminent Sikh personalities before its release. However, the plea was disposed of after the CBFC informed the court that the film had not yet been cleared for public viewing.

The release of Emergency, originally scheduled for September 6, has been postponed due to these controversies. The Shiromani Akali Dal has also called for a ban on the film, citing its alleged misrepresentation of the Sikh community.

Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn to team up for Son of Sardaar 2, shoot to begin in Punjab this October

Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn to team up for Son of Sardaar 2, shoot to begin in Punjab this October

Fans of the original Son of Sardaar have reason to celebrate as Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn are all set to reunite for the much-anticipated sequel, Son of Sardaar 2. After initial concerns regarding Dutt’s participation due to visa issues, it has now been confirmed that the actor will join Devgn on set in Punjab this October. The news, confirmed by Dainik Bhaskar, has thrilled fans who have been eagerly waiting to see the duo back together on screen.

A new plot with fresh characters

Unlike many sequels that continue the story of their predecessors, Son of Sardaar 2 will take a different approach. The film is not connected to the first installment but promises to bring the same level of excitement and humour. Reports suggest that Sanjay Dutt will play a character with shades of the iconic Vasooli Bhai, and the film will feature an intense gang war between Bihari and Punjabi dons. Ravi Kishan’s original role, which was initially assigned to Vijay Raaz, will now be played by the versatile Sanjay Mishra, adding another layer of intrigue to the storyline.

Challenges and triumphs behind the scenes

Sanjay Dutt’s involvement in the film faced significant hurdles when his UK visa was rejected due to his 1993 legal case, in which he was detained under TADA and the Arms Act. Despite this setback, Dutt’s determination to be part of Son of Sardaar 2 remained unwavering.

Ajay Devgn’s excitement and the Muhurat ceremony

Ajay Devgn, who is currently shooting in the UK, recently took to Instagram to announce the Muhurat of Son of Sardaar 2. The film’s journey began with prayers and blessings, and Devgn shared a video of the ceremony, where he was seen offering prayers at a gurdwara. The video also featured Mrunal Thakur, who performed a lively bhangra on stage, hinting at the film’s vibrant and culturally rich backdrop. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film’s extensive shoot will take place in both the UK and India.
