Sector 36: Vikrant Massey starrer to have a World Premiere showcase at the 15th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne

The 15th annual Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is thrilled to announce that the highly anticipated Netflix film Sector 36 will have its world premiere at the 15th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). The crime-thriller, starring Vikrant Massey, Deepak Dobriyal, marks Aditya Nimbalkar’s directorial debut and is jointly produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, is set to release next month.

Inspired by true events, Sector 36 delves into the harrowing disappearance of several children from a local slum. The story follows a police officer who clashes with a serial killer as a chilling investigation uncovers dark secrets and unsettling events. Leading man Vikrant Massey shared his excitement about the film’s premiere and said, “It’s a momentous occasion for me, along with Maddock Films, Jio Studios, and Netflix, to have our film – Sector 36, have a world premiere at IFFM 2024. We are honoured to have the film come to the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. It’s an important story that needs to be seen and I can’t wait for the Australian audience and the Indian diaspora to see what we have been able to create.”

Aditya Nimbalkar’s directorial vision promises a spine-chilling narrative that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats. Mitu Bhowmick Lange, Festival Director of IFFM, expressed her enthusiasm and added, “We are delighted to present Netflix’s Sector 36 as part of this year’s festival and as part of our spotlight programming. The film’s intense storytelling and powerful performances make it a perfect fit for our audience. Along with Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal, Akash Khurana is also expected to essay a key role in this crime thriller. Written by Bodhayan Roychaudhury, the film is produced by Dinesh Vijan & Jyoti Deshpande, the film is slated for release on September 13, 2024.

Amit Sadh to host India’s ONLY paranormal reality show Dark Scroll; deets inside

Get ready for spine-tingling chills and thrills as MTV announces India’s only paranormal reality show, MTV Dark Scroll – Muqabla Anjaan Se! The new adrenaline-pumping show hosted by actor Amit Sadh will feature 9 seekers investigating the unknown in Uttarakhand, across 7 haunted locations. Guiding them will be renowned paranormal expert Sarbajeet Mohanty and psychic Pooja Vijay. MTV Dark Scroll in association with The Souled Store, will premiere on August 16, the show will stream every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 7 pm on JioCinema and 10 pm on MTV.

Guided by Amit, Sarbajeet, and Pooja, the Seekers will investigate chilling stories and face other-worldly challenges amidst the misty mountains and dense forests of Uttarakhand. The seekers will be tasked with a series of activities inside each haunted location using advanced entity-detection devices like Infrared Cameras, Electromagnetic Field Measures, and Paranormal Investigation methods like the Estes Method. They will aim to complete their investigations successfully while withstanding the spooks as the show unfolds.

On the launch, Host Amit Sadh said – “This project is a groundbreaking experience for me. MTV Dark Scroll – Muqabla Anjaan Se is set to redefine reality television in India. The show will challenge everything you thought you knew. I can’t wait for fans and viewers to uncover this experience on MTV and JioCinema.”

Sarbajeet Mohanty, the founder of PAIRS (Parapsychology and Investigations Research Society) brings years of expertise in investigating paranormal phenomena, ensuring each encounter is grounded in research. Pooja Vijay, co-founder, of PAIRS with her extraordinary psychic abilities, adds another layer of depth to the investigations, sensing and communicating with the spectral entities that lurk in these haunted locales.
