Salman Khan records statement on firing incident at Bandra residence; shares details

On June 4, Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan visited the Mumbai Police to record their statements regarding the firing incident that took place outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence on April 14. This development comes as the investigation into the case continues.

Salman Khan shares details of the house firing incident
According to a police source, Salman Khan woke up to the sound of gunshots on the morning of April 14. He then proceeded to the balcony to investigate but saw nothing unusual. Security guards at the Galaxy Apartment’s entrance gate had already been alerted and were searching for the attackers, who arrived on motorcycles. One of the guards informed Salman Khan, who then alerted the police.
Salman Khan opens up on getting threats
One of the five rounds fired during the incident struck the balcony of Salman Khan’s apartment. The police collected the bullet as evidence. During his statement, Salman Khan also spoke about past threats he had received from the gang of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. These threats included a letter found near his residence in June 2022 and a threat issued by fugitive gangster Goldy Brar in 2023.
Status of the investigation of Salman Khan house firing case
So far, the Mumbai Police have arrested six individuals in connection with the firing case. One of the accused allegedly died by suicide while in police custody in May. In a separate case, the Navi Mumbai Police arrested five people suspected of conducting reconnaissance of Salman Khan’s Panvel farmhouse, shooting locations, and Bandra residence, allegedly with the intent of harming him. The Navi Mumbai Police also seized a cache of arms and ammunition during this operation.

After sharing a cryptic video yesterday and making the internet go wild with speculations, Sunny Deol has confirmed that he will return in one of India’s biggest War films of all time – Border 2.

Produced by T-Series and JP films and written by Nidhi Dutta, daughter of legendary director JP Dutta, Border 2 will be the biggest war film in India. According to rumours, the story is placed in the same setting at the Battle of Longewala and will start shooting sometime in October this year.

Sunny Deol, T-Series and JP films shared a post on social media welcoming Sunny Deol to Border 2 with the caption, “Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse. The announcement has been a long time coming, and it is reported that the filmmakers have meticulously planned every detail. According to the buzz, the team behind Border 2 has been working tirelessly to ensure the sequel lives up to the original’s legacy. With preparations nearing completion, the film is slated to go on floors in October later this year.

Karan Johar moves Bombay High Court over illegal use of his name in a film’s title

Director-Producer Karan Johar has reportedly taken legal action against the creators of the upcoming Hindi movie Shaadi Ke Director Karan aur Johar. Johar, a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking an urgent injunction against the film’s release, since it is slated to hit theatres this week, on June 14. With the film being only a day away from its release, Johar seeks not only a temporary stay on the film’s distribution but also a permanent injunction against the unauthorized use of his name in any context related to the movie.

In his plea, Karan Johar emphasized the necessity of preventing the unauthorized use of his name in the film’s title, arguing that such usage directly infringes upon his personal rights, including his rights to privacy and publicity. He also went on to firmly clarify and assert that he has no involvement whatsoever with the movie or its creators. Karan also explained in his complaint that this is blatant exploitation of his ‘brand name’ without consent, which undermines his hard-earned reputation and goodwill in the industry. The lawsuit underscores the urgency of the matter, given that promotional materials, including trailers and posters, are already in circulation on various platforms, including social media.

In an official statement which was reported by India Today, the suit read, “These trailers and posters have caused and are continuing to cause irreparable loss and damage to the goodwill and reputation of Johar. Further, such a release of the film with the title containing his brand name ‘Karan Johar,’ together or in parts, will cause irreparable loss and damage to the goodwill and reputation which he has gained after investing huge amounts of time, effort, and money,”

Justice RI Chagla’s bench has agreed to hold a hearing on June 13, Thursday, a day prior to the release of the film.
