With ‘Rishton Ka Naya Andaaz, Meethas Ke Saath (New perspective of relationships with a little bit of sweetness)’, COLORS gears up to capture this essence with the latest promo of its upcoming show ‘Mishri’ starring Shruti Bhist as Mishri and Namish Taneja as Raghav. The show chronicles the rollercoaster journey of a girl who brings joy and sweet fortune to others while grappling with her own bitter destiny.

Residing in Mathura, Mishri is the town’s sweetheart, invited to every auspicious occasion to spread her good luck. The plot thickens when her conniving chachi schemes to marry her off to her shady middle-aged brother, swapping out the groom she was supposed to wed. Just when all hope seems lost, fate throws a curveball. In a dramatic twist, Raghav comes as a saviour and marries Mishri, flipping the script on Chachi’s nasty plot. The saga of dodging life’s lemons doesn’t end there! But the saga doesn’t end there – bound by gratitude and a mangal sutra, the ever-determined Mishri refuses to be a burden to Raghav, who’s in love with another girl named Vaani.

Mishri’s loyalty lies with Raghav and his soon-to-be wife Vaani, whom she loves like a sister. How will Mishri navigate this complex dynamic without hurting the two most important people in her life? Relationships in the modern era are ever-evolving, with new dynamics emerging every day. But amidst all these changes, there remains one constant – the desire for ‘meethas’ that binds hearts together.

Sharing her excitement of playing the role of Mishri, Shruti Bhist said, “Mishri is truly special to me as it marks my first collaboration with Colors. Despite spreading joy wherever she goes, Mishri’s own life lacks the sweetness she generously gives others. She is on a quest to transform her misfortunes into triumphs, come what may. Even after losing her parents and being treated as unpaid help by her own aunt, Mishri refuses to let circumstances break her loving spirit or her dreams of creating a better life. If there’s one thing, I hope viewers take away from this show, it is hope.”

Brimming with enthusiasm about portraying the role of Raghav, Namish Taneja added, “I’m thrilled to be returning to Colors after my memorable roles in Swaragini and Vidya. In this new-age drama, I will be essaying the role of Raghav, a man known for his readiness to help those in need. I really connect with my character’s kindness because I love helping others whenever I can. I’m excited to share Raghav’s inspiring story with the viewers.”

Mishri is expected to premiere July 3 at 8:30 pm only on Colors.

Chahatt Khanna, best known for projects like Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Yaatris, Prassthanam, Qubool Hai and many more, over the years, is one of those actresses who always pushes herself beyond the comfort zone. Currently, the diva is busy shooting for multiple projects and is busy juggling between sets. Although we don’t have much information about all her future endeavours, we certainly know for a fact that she’s all set to play a tough cop in one of her upcoming projects and has been extensively prepping for it. In fact, she is currently busy shooting for a special web series for Jio Cinema titled ‘Pati, Patni Aur Kand’ which Shananaz Khan is directing.

From training hard in the gym to maintaining a nice balance of cardiovascular exercises and diet, she’s doing it all to do justice to her character. Speaking about the show, it is produced by Seven Sense Productions and she’s all set to slay as the main lead alongside actor Abhishek Kapur. On being asked more about the same, a tight-lipped Chahatt quipped without revealing much about the project and said, “Well, I am not in a position to reveal too much about the project. But yes, this is going to be quite an interesting one and I am looking forward to it. All I can say is that the role is quite interesting and different from what I have done in the past and that makes me all the way more excited. Get ready for something truly spectacular. I am confident that my fans and loyal legion of admirers will like it a lot. Stay tuned.”

The actress also expressed that she is hoping to have a gala time going forward as she shoots for multiple projects.

PVR INOX, the largest and the most premium cinema exhibitor in India is proud to host the special screening of the highly anticipated biographical drama Chandu Champion in partnership with the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) today. The screening was part of an event titled “75 Days to Paralympics 2024” and took place on June 14, 2024 at PVR Priya, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. The special screening was attended by Mr. Murlikant Petkar and Mr. Devinder, President PCI along with officials and para-athletes.

Chandu Champion is a compelling biographical drama that is based on the inspiring journey of Mr. Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympian. The film highlights Mr. Petkar’s remarkable achievements and his unwavering spirit, which continues to motivate and inspire athletes around the world. Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, known for hard-hitting films like Talvar and Raazi, is gearing up for her next project. Inspired from the horrific 2019 Hyderabad encounter case, the film titled Daayra is expected to roll by the end of 2024. The case involved the alleged extrajudicial killing of four rape suspects by police officials in Hyderabad. Gulzar has locked the script and is in advanced conversations with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana for the lead roles.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source revealed, “It’s a hard-hitting film that warrants the presence of actors with the calibre of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana. The duo read the script and were shocked by the details of the case. After Talvar, this is another film that could shock the nation and stir a conversation about the case.”

While Kapoor Khan and Khurrana have verbally agreed to the project, final contracts are still being worked out and are expected to be finalized within the next two weeks. Aiming for a 2025 release, Gulzar reportedly aims for a sensitive portrayal of the case.

“Meghna is looking to take the film on floors by the end of 2024. It will arrive in the cinema halls in 2025,” the source informed. “Meghna has done all her research on the subject through the last few years and had a strong source material on place for her screenplay. She was moved by all that happened. Kareena and Ayushmann resonated with the emotions and are looking forward to team up on this special project.” This film would mark the first on-screen pairing of Kapoor Khan and Khurrana.

The Hyderabad encounter case, which took place in 2019, sparked national outrage. The young veterinarian’s horrific rape and murder in 2019 sent shockwaves through the country. The four men accused in the case were never given a trial. The encounter sparked national outrage due to the lack of transparency and the suspicion of a staged encounter. Public pressure likely played a role in the Supreme Court’s eventual ruling. In 2022, the Supreme Court ordered action against 10 police officers involved in the encounter.

Produced by Junglee Pictures, the thriller drama’s pre-production is underway and is set to roll in the last quarter of 2024.
