Bhumi Pednekar to continue her association with MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2024 as brand ambassador for Dimensions Mumbai: “Happy to play a role in creating a positive impact”
MAMI 2024 is gearing up for its next edition and is now accepting entries for one of its most awaited sections, Dimensions Mumbai, a short film competition with Mumbai as its central theme. The category was introduced in 2009 by Jaya Bachchan as an ode to Mumbai. Enterprising young filmmakers aged 18–25 years are eligible to submit films for Dimensions Mumbai. The film must showcase Mumbai as the core theme and not exceed a maximum time limit of 5 minutes.
A true Mumbaikar and India’s leading contemporary actor, Bhumi Pednekar, will also continue to serve as Brand Ambassador for Dimensions Mumbai this year. Known not to follow the beaten path with her eclectic choice of films and roles, Bhumi Pednerkar, and her journey is an inspiration for young creative minds. As the brand ambassador for Dimensions Mumbai, she will engage with aspiring young filmmakers and share her take on the city and its many cinematic representations.
Commenting on this, Bhumi Pednekar said, “It is with much pleasure that I continue my association with Dimensions Mumbai as its brand ambassador. I look forward to some fine work from talented emerging filmmakers as they showcase their unique take on the city. Dimensions Mumbai has the distinction of being one of the most popular short film competitions in India. It aims to bring together some of the brightest upcoming filmmakers and allow them to interact with and learn from the best in the industry. Registration for Dimensions Mumbai begins on June 20, 2024. Film submission begins on July 1, 2024, and will be open until August 5, 2024.
MAMI Mumbai Film Festival is ready to welcome young talent and all the special films that will be shown at the festival scheduled from October 19th to 24th. Young filmmakers have this unique opportunity to embark on their cinematic journey through Dimensions Mumbai.

T-Series films starring Ayushman Khurrana, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui to re-release in theatres
Bollywood films, which have started to explore subjects beyond a boy falling for a girl kinda romance, have featured complexities of queer relationships in films such as Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, both starring Ayushmann Khurrana as the lead along with Jitendra Kumar in the former and Vaani Kapoor in the latter. In order to celebrate the Pride Month as the LGBTQA+ communities gear up to celebrate all kinds of love, theatres will be re-releasing these movies this week, on June 21.
From Friday onwards, fans can catch these movies in their nearest cinemas. While both these films are produced by T-Series, a statement issued by the production revealed that these films are returning to theatres, to entertain and serve as powerful reminders of the diversity and resilience within the LGBTQIA+ community. This initiative aims at honoring their identities and encourages broader acceptance and understanding, making Pride Month a meaningful celebration on the silver screen.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan beautifully portrays the lives of two gay men deeply in love, navigating the challenges of gaining familial acceptance. Their journey unfolds with poignant realism, reflecting the complexities faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals in their quest for love and understanding. Featuring an ensemble cast of Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta, Manavi Gagroo, Pankhuri Awasthy Rode, among others, it originally released on February 21, 2020.
What is Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui about?
Meanwhile, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui tells the unique tale of Manu, a bodybuilder from Chandigarh, who unexpectedly falls for Maanvi, a male Zumba teacher disguised as a woman. Their love story brims with humor and heart, yet is tested when the truth surfaces, challenging societal norms and personal convictions. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the film originally released on December 10, 2021.
