Sonakshi Sinha’s marriage with Zaheer Iqbal draws ire from Hindu group in Patna: “Won’t let her enter Bihar”

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha’s recent wedding to actor Zaheer Iqbal on June 23 has sparked controversy, with a Hindu fringe group in Patna calling it “love jihad.”

Posters Surface in Patna
Posters put up across Patna by the Hindu Shivbhavani Sena allege that the marriage is part of a conspiracy to “Islamify” India. The posters threaten Sonakshi Sinha, stating they will not allow her entry into Bihar. The group further directed their message towards veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi’s father. They demanded he change the names of his palatial Mumbai residence, “Ramayana,” and his sons, Luv and Kush, claiming these names disrespect Hinduism.

Shatrughan Sinha has defended his daughter’s marriage, stating it is a personal choice and not a violation of any law. He urged the protestors to find more productive ways to spend their time.
Sonakshi and Zaheer Remain Silent
Neither Sonakshi Sinha nor Zaheer Iqbal have publicly commented on the posters. However, shortly after sharing wedding photos online, they disabled the comments section, possibly to avoid negativity. Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal reportedly dated for seven years before their private civil ceremony in Mumbai. The ceremony included close family and friends.

Welcome to the Jungle: Nana Patekar reveals why he and Anil Kapoor opted out of third installment: “Kahani nahi hai. Utna maza nahi aaya”

Fans of the hilarious Welcome franchise were eagerly anticipating the return of the iconic duo, Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar) and Majnu Bhai (Anil Kapoor), in the upcoming Welcome 3 movie titled Welcome to the Jungle. However, recent news revealed that Patekar and Kapoor declined to participate in the film, leaving many disappointed.

Nana Patekar, in an interview with The Lallantop, shed light on his decision. The veteran actor bluntly stated, “They did approach us. We said no. Kahani nahi hai. Utna maza nahi aaya (There’s no story. We didn’t enjoy it as much).”

Further explaining his close association with the franchise and his co-star, Patekar revealed his initial hesitation about playing Uday Bhai. He said he even made director Anees Bazmee swear on his mother that the role would suit him. However, for Patekar, the essence of Welcome lay in the camaraderie between Uday Bhai and Majnu Bhai. “But it wouldn’t have been complete if Anil and I weren’t doing it together. If Anil and I are there, then only Welcome is possible. If you remove me, then he alone can’t make Welcome and vice-versa,” he emphasized.

Nana Patekar also mentioned the underwhelming performance of the sequel, Welcome Back, at the box office, hinting at a potential reason for his reservations. While the first film, released in 2007, became a cult classic, the 2015 sequel failed to capture the same magic.

Welcome to the Jungle remains a highly anticipated project. It marks Akshay Kumar’s return to the comedy genre after a long hiatus and boasts a massive cast exceeding 30 actors – including Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, and Lara Dutta among others.

The film is scheduled for December 20, 2025 release.

Details surrounding the exact plot are still under wraps, but reports suggest the film might explore the rare phenomenon of heteropaternal superfecundation, where twins are conceived from different fathers.

Adding to the excitement, Ananya Panday will be making a cameo appearance. Bad Newz is helmed by director Anand Tiwari. The film is slated to hit theaters on July 19, 2024.

Kangana Ranaut asks for accommodation in CM’s suite at New Delhi’s Maharashtra Sadan; sparks political controversy: Reports

Kangana Ranaut asks for accommodation in CM’s suite at New Delhi’s Maharashtra Sadan; sparks political controversy: Reports

Newly elected BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, Kangana Ranaut, recently made headlines with an unusual request following her oath as a Member of Parliament. Currently in Delhi to attend the parliamentary session, the actress-turned-politician is staying at the Maharashtra Sadan. However, according to a report by News18 Marathi, Kangana did not settle for a simple room; instead, she requested the Chief Minister’s suite.

This request ignited a political row, with Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut taking to X (formerly Twitter) to sarcastically suggest that Kangana should be accommodated in a large suite at Rashtrapati Bhavan if she considered herself that important. In Marathi, he pointed out the standard protocol for newly elected MPs, explaining that they are temporarily accommodated in the state houses or sadans specific to the states they represent until permanent housing is arranged.

Raut elaborated that MPs from Bihar stay at Bihar Sadan, those from Uttar Pradesh at Uttar Pradesh Bhavan, and similarly, Maharashtra Sadan for Maharashtra MPs. He found it absurd that Kangana, elected from Himachal Pradesh, demanded the Chief Minister’s suite in Maharashtra Sadan, suggesting instead that she should be staying in Himachal Sadan. “But let it be, she is Kangana Ranaut,” he remarked.

According to IANS, Congress ex-minister Yashomati Thakur weighed in, suggesting that Kangana’s ignorance of parliamentary protocols might explain her unusual request. “Since actress Kangana Ranaut is a newly-elected MP, she may be ignorant about the protocols in such matters,” Thakur said dismissively.
