Uorfi Javed asks ‘who are we to judge’ after Armaan Malik and his wives receive flak for promoting polygamy culture
Bigg Boss OTT Season 3 has yet again kicked off a new controversy – this time, at the helm of it is Armaan Malik. The social media influencer faced the wrath of several netizens who slammed him for maintaining a polygamous relationship for marrying two women who are best friends. Among them was Devoleena Bhattacharjee who took to social media to pour her heart out even condemning the show makers for inviting him and his wives as contestants. However, another former contestant of the show, Uorfi Javed has come in support of the Maliks and have questioned people about being judgmental.
Uorfi Javed reveals that she has known the Maliks for long
Uorfi Javed took to her Instagram story this week to share a story by posting a picture of the trio wherein she also mentioned that she has known Armaan Malik as well as his wives Payal and Krithika Malik and appreciated them as human beings. Further defending about the existence of polygamous practices being a part of the society since older times, Uorfi penned a note in support of the BB OTT 3 contestants, saying, “I have known the family for quite some time and I can vouch they are the nicest people I’ve ever met! If the three of them are happy, who are we to judge. The concept of polygamy exists since long, it’s even popular till date in some religions. If the three of them are okay, we are no one to comment!”
Devoleena Bhattacharjee shares another note
Among many netizens, TV actress and former BB contestant Devoleena Bhattacharjee was one of the first ones to express her dislike and disappointment over the arrival of Armaan Malik and his wives as contestants on the show. She slammed the reality show makers for promoting polygamous relationships and now yet again she has posted another long note expressing her anger. “I can’t say about every man, but surely those with lewd intentions must desire to have 2, 3, or 4 wives. Please stop this filth. For god sake stop this. Someday if those same wives start saying that they also wish to have 2 husbands each, then enjoy watching that too.”
“Although, I don’t think that day is far off. Then, I would like to see those who now say, ‘It’s their life, if he can keep both or all three happy together, then what’s the problem?’ Don’t worry. This karma cycle works in such a way. Someday, some girl will say that she wants to have two husbands and will keep them happy, then I will see how many of you step forward to support her. The same bunch will be the first to not leave any stones unturned in character assassination,” she shared.
She concluded by adding, “As a society, we are already on a destructive path. And yes, just because a mistake has been happening for years, doesn’t mean it should continue. This justifies every wrong action as being right. In my eyes, this is wrong , POLYGAMY IS WRONG and it will always remain wrong. But kya karein hain kuch aise ki jab tak khud nahi bhugat te tab tak samajh nahi ata. So all the best”.

Jio Studios locks all three BIG festivals and holidays of second half of 2024 for the release of their exciting releases: Stree 2, Singham Again, Baby John
Yesterday, the fans and trade got a surprise as it was announced that Baby John will now arrive on Christmas. It was originally scheduled to be released in theatres on May 31 but now has been pushed to December 25. It is backed by Jio Studios and in an interesting development, the production house has managed to book all the three major holidays of 2024 for their exciting releases. While Stree 2 will arrive on Independence Day (August 15), Singham Again has been locked for a Diwali release. This decision marks a significant step in Jio Studios’ efforts to capitalize on festive periods, which traditionally see higher cinema footfalls.
Stree 2 is the sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy hit, Stree. The original star cast – Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Pankaj Tripathi – feature in the second installment. The film is even more awaited after the success of the recent release Munjya, which was also set in the same cinematic universe. It is also produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and directed by Amar Kaushik.
Singham Again, meanwhile, has tremendous buzz due to the association of blockbuster director Rohit Shetty. Ajay once again reprises his role of Bajirao Singham and this time, he’s joined by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff. Though it’ll clash with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is another highly awaited film, the charismatic presence of its leading man, the high-octane action (a hallmark of the series) and its patriotic fervour are sure to pull in viewers.
Finally, Baby John stars Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi and is produced by Jawan director Atlee. Details about Baby John are still under wraps, but buzz suggests it will be a family-oriented film with a mix of humour and heartwarming moments. Christmas, a time for family gatherings and celebrations, could provide the perfect setting for audiences to flock to theatres for this flick.
With this strategic scheduling, Jio Studios not only aims to maximize viewership but also sets the stage for setting new box office records. As the second half of 2024 approaches, movie enthusiasts have much to look forward to, and Jio Studios’ holiday trio will undoubtedly be at the centre of cinematic excitement.
