India’s first zombie apocalypse movie, Go Goa Gone continues to be one of the most iconic Hindi films of all time. Helmed by Raj and D.K., the film completes eleven years since its release today. Interestingly, the zombie action comedy won over audiences not just with its hilarious and engaging storyline, but also with its breakthrough performances and dialogues. Playing one of the leads in the film, Kunal Kemmu, along with Vir Das and Anand Tiwari, opened up about one of his best films. Since he also wrote the film’s iconic dialogues, the actor-turned-filmmaker recalled some fond memories about this fun entertainer.

Opening up about the film, Kunal Kemmu said, “Go Goa Gone remains one of the most special films in my career. We embarked on this journey with a passion to bring this film to life with all our hearts. Raj & DK are exceptional filmmakers and deserve all the recognition. I am glad that I could contribute more than just acting to the film. As an actor, I learnt so much more about filmmaking and writing through this film. Previously, I only wrote for myself, but ‘Go Goa Gone’ changed that, giving me confidence as a writer too. It’s truly a film that brings me immense happiness and pride.”

A cult classic celebrated for its blend of horror and comedy, along with rib-tickling dialogues and peppy tracks, the film follows the journey of a group of friends who go to Goa for a vacation and end up finding themselves fighting a desi zombie apocalypse. The film, also starring Puja Gupta, and Saif Ali Khan in an extended cameo, released on May 10, 2013. While the movie continues to win hearts, filmmakers Raj and DK are also expected to revive it as a franchise and has often revealed about a sequel being on the cards. However, there hasn’t been any development on that front.

Global icon Priyanka Chopra dedicated an endearing post for popstar and husband Nick Jonas. She went on Instagram to share a picture to congratulate him on his new acting project.

Priyanka shared a loving post which read, “Husband appreciation post: As I finish one, he starts one. The universe keeps us in sync. So happy to be reunited as he starts filming Power Ballad. Congratulations on your first day baby. There is no one who works harder than you. This is going to be amazing. #johncarney #paulrudd @nickjonas @anthonymandler for Spaceman (sic).” She affectionately captioned it.

For this new acting project Nick will be seen starring alongside Paul Rudd, Power Ballad and be steered by director John Carney.

Nick Jonas has been seen acting in blockbusters like Jumanji: Welcome to Jungle, Disney’s Camp Rock and has even made a wholesome cameo with wife Priyanka Chopra in Love Again. Whereas Priyanka has just finished the shoot of Heads of State.

Following the release of Aranmanai 4, Raashii Khanna expressed her gratitude as the horror-comedy garners praise from audiences and critics alike. Amid rumours swirling around the premature conclusion of Season 1 of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix, comedian Chandan Prabhakar, a former integral member of The Kapil Sharma Show, shared his perspective. Reports suggest that Netflix decided to end the season abruptly due to disappointing ratings, although official announcements are pending. With only six episodes aired and uncertainty surrounding a second season, speculation abounds regarding the future of the show.

In an interview with HT, Chandan Prabhakar emphasized the importance of delivering entertainment to viewers, stating, “Logon ke liye hi show bana rahe hain. And if they don’t get the entertainment they are seeking, then what’s the point?” Prabhakar, known for his role as Raju Chaiwala in the previous iteration of the show, urged Kapil Sharma and the team to reflect on audience feedback and address any shortcomings in their comedic approach.

The 12th Fail actor Vikrant Massey was seen engaging into an altercation with a cab driver, while fans speculated that the viral video was nothing more than a promotional tactic for an upcoming project.

In the video, we can see the cab driver introducing himself and then directs the camera towards Vikrant who objects to it and was seen not agreeing with the increase in the cab’s price.

“Mera naam Ashish hai. Mai ek cab driver hoon. Maine apne passenger ko unke location pe phuncha diya hai. Aur vo paise nahi de rahe hai. Behas baazi lar rahe hai ulta. Gaali galoch kar rahe hai” the driver said while recording the video. Once the driver pointed the camera towards Vikrant, the actor responded, “Gaali galoch kar rahe hai? Camera kyun nikal diya bhai? Dhamka rahe ho tum? Jayaz baat hi to kar rajha hoon na mai? Yeh achanak se paise kaise badh gaye? Yeh nahi chalega.”

While the video went viral, the speculations made by the fans did too as many of them continuously doubted it to be an ad campaign. These doubts have been particularly raised because of the staged looking backdrop behind Vikrant. The hilarious comments made by fans included comments like “Movie promotion ka tareeka thoda cazual hai,” “Script acchi hai,” “Yeah this seems like some publicity gimmick for his upcoming series/film. And where did he get violent, that’s not visible…,” “One min silence for those who think it’s real.”

Similar activities have been done in the past by actors like Kajol when she deleted all her social media posts which later turned out to be a promotional gimmick for her show and Poonam Pandey who faced heavy backlash for faking her own death.

Ranbir Kapoor’s highly anticipated film, Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and co-produced by Yash, has hit a snag. Reports suggest the film is facing a legal battle regarding intellectual property rights.

Dispute Over “Project Ramayana” Title

The primary production house, Allu Mantena Media Ventures LLP, is reportedly in a legal dispute with Prime Focus Technologies Limited. According to a Money Control report, the conflict centres around the title “Project Ramayana.” While negotiations for acquiring the intellectual property rights began in April 2024, it appears talks failed due to incomplete payments to formalise the agreement.

Allu Mantena Media Claims Ownership

The report stated, “Allu Mantena Media Ventures LLP claims that the rights to ‘Project Ramayana’ continue to belong to them, and any use or exploitation of the script or material by Prime Focus Technologies Limited or any affiliated entities would constitute an infringement of their copyright. The notice also states that Prime Focus Technologies Limited has no right, title, or interest in the ‘Project Ramayana’ material. The production company has expressed its intention to take legal action to protect its rights if necessary.” 

It remains unclear whether this legal battle will delay the film’s production. While the film recently went into production with photos of Ranbir Kapoor’s character leaking online, the current situation casts a shadow over the project’s timeline.
